I’ve tried this now a few times in the past, with not so much movement. But this time, I’m setting this as my primary project for 2012. Like my “Drawing a Day” was my main project of 2011, this one will take over where that one left off. I’ll be using the name Fantasy Adventures as a working title for now, until I can come up with a better one. I plan to hire voice talents for this along with the possibility to bring in other artist and writers for the stories once I’ve got an establish set of characters. The animation style I’ve chosen to follow will be somewhere between modern day cutout puppets as seen on the Cartoon Network, the only 1 tone colored “Scooby-Doo Where Are You?”, “Dragon’s Lair”, and “Dungeons & Dragons: The Animated Series”. Already, before 2011 was over, I’ve begun research on animation styles, what it takes to put together a cartoon show bible, how to write screenplays for animation, and nailing down the 4 main characters of my stories.

The show will follow the misadventures of four unlikely heroes who each try to pull the party apart by going their own ways, only to end up needing one another to survive. The character classes will be made up of the classic four: fighter, wizard, cleric, and rogue. The plan as of now is to create 12 22-minute cartoon episodes and produce it to a quality that it could be broadcast over TV or sold direct-to-DVD.

Update: After some initial tries, this project will have to await awhile long. I’ve since moved an even bigger project to the front of my focus: digiLARP. This is what I will be spending most of my time working on this year with the addition of writing a full-length feature film screenplay in April as part of my New Year’s resolutions.
