Sword of Truth. There once was a noble knight who found an abandoned sword in a cave. As soon as he appeared from the cave with the sword in hand, he could not lie. The sword worked it’s magic through the one who wielded it and forced them to speak the truth no matter the course. Eventually, the noble knight was fooled into betraying his king through trickery of the courts and because he held the sword when he swore to tell the truth, his wrongful deeds were revealed in detail, banishing the well known hero to death. The King’s Clerics took charge of the sword and keep it hidden within their temple walls these days using it to obtain confessions as needed.
