Archive for January, 2011
Yeti. Finally, done with January and didn’t miss a day! Wow, this is turning out to be a lot more work and harder than it looks. The drawing itself is not hard, but to keep it up every single day of the year. It’s a lot like eating. I was so tired tonight after dinner, I had thoughts of just going to bed, but being the last day of the first month of 2011, I couldn’t miss a day now. So I drew this simple Yeti in the older style of #2HB pencil and eraser. I then added a color hue in post.
Mr. Shroom and friends. Picked a cartoon look tonight as I was short on time. Draft was done in #2HB pencil. Outlining was inked with M/S Cartoonist pen. And color as usual was done with colored Sharpies.
Shield the treasure. Wasn’t sure how this one would end up tonight. I started with the concept of the dragon pattern and a shield in the center. The green orbs on the sides are mystical and full of elven magic. For this drawing I drafted with a #2HB pencil, used a M/S Cartoonist Pens for outlining, normally I just use an M. For coloring I used colored Sharpies.
A goblin on the run stops near a stream for a short breath. Tonight, I got started early on my drawing but didn’t actual start this one until 10pm. I ripped more than one half drawn image from my drawing book, before I finally settled on this one. I do believe this is the first attempt at drawing a goblin that I’ve ever made. Same as the others I’ve recently drawn. #2HB pencil for the draft, cartoonist pen for the ink outline. Then Sharpies for the coloring.
Guardian of the May Pole. I had this image in my head recently and developed it late tonight after a 14 hour work day. #2HB pencil for the draft, then cartoonist pen and black Sharpie for the outlining. Finally, used colored Sharpies for the colors.
Green Dragon. Today, I even though I got off to a late start, I decided on drawing a dragon and trying to color it. I used a #2HB pencil for the rough draft, then inked it with a cartoonist pen. Next, I used the eraser to get rid of the pencil and a shader on the horns. Finally, I used 2 tones of green and brown for most the colors. The only red is in his eyes, and the black for larger black areas. Sharpies were used for the colors.
Recently, I found myself back at the Indiegogo.com website looking at a web series I found after making a series of random YouTube video clicks. I even funded a film on there that was made in Canada that has already finished filming and just needs the money for marketing. Below are a few of those films I’d like to get the word out there about and see about getting them some funding. Someday, I’ll be right there with them, trying to fund my own projects. Until, I can at least promote and spread the word. Below you will find the name of the project, a brief description, a video if available, and a link to the current status of the project, which you can click on to help fund that film.
A group of friends re-form their weekly gaming group to retake the DungeonCrawl Championships from their former teammate who backstabbed them years prior.
Less Than Heroic
You have to Dungeon Crawl before you can Dungeon Run.
Something amidst in the wizard’s workshop. Decided to go for a full color cartoon drawing tonight. Don’t know why, but when I’m really tired and want to just draw something quick, I end up taking longer and produce works like this. So much for rest. For this drawing I used the #2HB pencil, shader, eraser, cartoonist pen for outlining, and color Sharpies for color.
